Past Chair
Craig Silliphant has served on the ACAP Saint John Board since 2006, holding various executive roles. As the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at CLOW Canada, he champions sustainability and workplace safety. Craig’s passion for ACAP’s mission began during his time as a summer Project Coordinator with the organization, inspiring his ongoing commitment to fostering environmental stewardship and creating a sustainable future for the Saint John community.

Chair
Lisa Hrabluk is an award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, and increasingly impatient Canadian whose work focuses on helping people create sustainable change that sticks. Her consultancy Wicked Ideas supports mission-driven teams design, activate and scale community networks to address complex challenges. She is the author of New Brunswick Underwater, about the impact of climate change on the St. John River; and is a leader in the North American BCorp movement, for-profit companies that meet the highest standards for social and environmental impact.

Secretary
Leah Fitzgerald joined the board in 2017 and has been the secretary since 2019. She works for the New Brunswick Housing Corporation, leading internal communications and information management, and volunteers as a national-level sport official. Not afraid to get muddy or wet in the pursuit of a shopping cart, she’s led several teams to win the biggest haul during the annual Marsh Creek Clean-Up.

Bede Biereonwu is an accomplished business manager with over a decade of experience in school administration, product development, financial and people management. His expertise includes strategic planning, program coordination, and building strong stakeholder relationships. He has held management positions in various sectors, including education, banking, and financial technology.
Bede holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration, an MBA in Financial Management (Lagos State University), and another MBA in General Management from University of New Brunswick.
A strong advocate for environmental sustainability and social welfare, Bede has also been actively involved in community-based non-profit groups, helping them develop and implement programs to strengthen community partnerships and achieve their objectives. He is passionate about using his extensive background to help drive the growth of ACAP.

Nicole is a professional engineer with experience supporting environmental compliance and sustainability across various industries, including pulp and paper, oil and gas, transportation, and consumer products. She is passionate about helping corporations and individuals to reduce their environmental impact and joined ACAP in 2022. In her free time Nicole is an endurance sport enthusiast and loves spending time outside training for triathlons, trail running, and hiking.

After completing a Bachelor of Science in Environment and Natural Resources with a major in Wildlife Conservation at UNB, Angela spent two years working to conserve inner Bay of Fundy Atlantic salmon and other species at risk through Fort Folly Habitat Recovery. Since then, she has been working as an environmental consultant with Fundy Engineering. She officially joined the ACAP Board of Directors in June 2023 as a way to engage in Saint John’s environmental community.

Vice Chair
Allan Gates is an experienced entrepreneur and marketing communications professional. Born and raised on the Miramichi, he started his career on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and then entered the agency world, working for PR and Marketing shops in Halifax, Saint John and Boston before cofounding Bonfire Communications in Saint John in 2013. Today, Allan is the Principal Consultant at Redgate Communications and Vice President of Marketing at Mariner Partners’ SHIFT Energy division.
